Emotional Intelligence

EQ: Emotional Intelligence is at the heart of great leadership.

Emotional Intelligence—also called EQ—is the ability to understand and evaluate emotions, both our own and those of others. EQ is awareness. It is the ability to get along well with others, to read people, to form relationships, and to be present emotionally.

In business, relationships are a cornerstone of success. And a high EQ is actually the most significant and important predictor of personal and professional success. Studies show that cognitive intelligence (IQ) only predicts between 4 and 20 percent of professional success, while EQ predicts high performance 80 percent of the time.

Across professions and at different levels within organizations, people with high EQs—those who are more self-aware, more able to adapt their behaviors, more skilled at reading the emotions of others, and better at developing relationships—are far more successful.

AIM Leadership offers several tools to assess and develop EQs, including training, coaching, workshops, consulting, and more. We will tailor our services to meet your needs to help you develop this critical skill.
